These are tough times for hospitality venues around the world. Here are a few innovative ideas to stay afloat and ride this out:
1/ Delivery
Offer delivery. What-ever way you can. Get your wait staff delivering by foot, cars, bikes and boats. Use the resources you have. Make customers aware of your safety measures, including no-contact delivery.
2/ Offer a new service
Sell your homemade pasta, sauces, curries and salads to take home. The supermarket shelves are empty and you can fill the gap.
3/ Use your location
Cafes are in prime locations. Maximise your location by setting up a make-shift convenience store with your products or open a pop-up drive through in your car park. People are avoiding supermarkets and you're a short walk away.
4/ Get creative
Think outside the box with new offerings. Package up a ‘date night’ delivery by including entrees, mains, dessert and a bottle of wine. Can't sell a Martini? Create DIY Quarrantini kits. Cookie and cake decorating kits for kids. People are bored and ready to try new things! Take a punt and see what works.
5/ Be unforgettable
Do not stop communicating with your customers. Let them know what you're doing and how you are going to help them. The coffee, burger and sugar cravings aren’t going anywhere so make sure you’re front of mind.
